1. Acceptance of terms
By using linanote, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service.
2. Description of service
linanote is a minimalistic writing application that allows users to create, edit, and organize documents. The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
3. User responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes.
4. Data and privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy above to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
5. Limitation of liability
linanote shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.
6. Changes to terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes via email or through the service.

1. Information we collect
We collect minimal information to provide our service: only your email address for account authentication and the documents you create. We use passwordless magic link authentication, which reduces security risks from leaked credentials.
2. How we use your information
Your email is used solely for account authentication and sending you magic login links. Your documents are only used to provide the service: storing them and syncing them between your devices. We don't analyze your writing, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.
3. Information sharing
We never sell your data. Your documents and email are not shared with third parties, except for essential service providers like our hosting infrastructure (Supabase) which we use to securely store your data with strict access controls.
4. Data security
Your documents are encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest in our database, which is hosted by Supabase. Row Level Security (RLS) makes sure that everyone who signs in to linanote can only open their own documents. A copy of your documents is also stored in your browser on each device you use, so you can keep writing offline.
Your documents are not end-to-end encrypted. This means the people who run linanote, and our hosting provider, could technically read them. We don't read your documents. We would only access them with your permission, for example to help with a problem you report, or when required by law.
5. Data retention
We keep your email and documents only as long as your account exists. When you delete a document, it stays in Recently deleted for 30 days so you can restore it, and is then deleted permanently, including any images you added to it. You can delete your account and all data at any time. Since we only store your email and documents (no sensitive personal data), data minimization is built into our design.
6. Your rights
You have full control over your data. Access, edit, or delete your documents anytime through your account. Delete your entire account and all data permanently from your account settings. Under GDPR, you have the right to data portability, deletion, and access.
7. Changes to privacy policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “last updated” date.
